Who We Are
The Flamingo Gardens Orchid Society was organized in 1989 to unite those interested in the education of its members with respect to the culture, growing, hybridization, preservation, and perpetuation of native and hybrid orchids and to provide an environment for the exchange of this information
What We Do
Flamingo Gardens Orchid Society (FGOS) meets the second Monday of every month.
- Informative and fun presentations by speakers, on all aspects of orchid related topics and who frequently offer plants for sale.
- A Show & Tell Table of breathtaking orchids - where members are encouraged to bring in their blooming plants for display.
- A Silent Auction table of orchids and other orchid related items provided by members.
- A Plant raffle is provided by the Guest Speaker or the Society.
- An Annual Orchid Auction Fundraiser for FGOS.
The Society hosts the Flamingo Gardens International Orchid & Bromeliad Show each spring held at Flamingo Gardens Botanical & Wildlife Sanctuary in Davie FL.
This show includes orchid plant judging by the American Orchid Society (AOS) as well as a variety of orchid vendors in the garden, orchids on display and orchid lectures. We offer a variety of programs and services to support mental health, including counseling, support groups, and educational workshops.
